Shanghai Pacific Legal has been recognised once again as “Firms to Watch” in the Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2023 guide. This is the first time the dispute resolution team has been ranked since making the inaugural submission earlier this year, as well as the second year for the banking and finance practice to retain the ranking.

The dispute resolution practice at Shanghai Pacific Legal focuses on financial and commercial litigations before the People’s Courts in China and arbitrations seated in China and across Asia. The team has particular expertise in the issues faced by financial institutions in disputes and litigations and also advises on the dispute resolution aspect of issues relating to restructuring, financial regulation and compliance. The practice was established in October 2021 and is led by counsel Rongxin Huang. Over the course of one year, the team has seen remarkable growth in both track record and market repute.

Our banking and finance team offers international and local lenders and borrowers with PRC legal advice in respect of China-related financing transactions, financial services regulation, and debt restructurings. The team has also garnered commendations from other well-known legal publications, including IFLR1000 and Asialaw Profiles for two years. Headed by partner Joy Gao, the team continues to gather momentum with diversifying service offerings, expanding client base, and growing public recognition.
